Business Analyst
Job Summary:
Responsible for performing needs analysis, documenting business requirements, developing/reviewing program specifications, creating user documentation and participate in QC/QA processes for software application development. Will interact with client representatives and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and work with software developers to arrive at the best means of meeting those requirements. Relies on extensive business / technical experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a wide variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Takes business direction from the Program Manager or Vice President.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop business requirements using quantitative and qualitative methods to discover and understand client needs
- Interface with clients, vendors, management, client services, and software developers
- Proven abilities in system analysis including translating business requirements into technical program specifications
- Provide business knowledge to aid and direct technical team members
- Use structured methodologies to research, evaluate, analyze, and recommend new processes and technologies
- From time to time, assist with second-tier resolution of support issues
- Participate in development of internal documentation, user documentation, and training materials
- Participate in internal training and provide application expertise to other departments
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently

- Assist other team members in developing project plans based on analysis of necessary steps to be taken to address issues
- Stay apprised of innovative technologies and solutions, and work with program manager to research and evaluate new product ideas
- Lead and participate in product release processes related to QA/QC and customer acceptance testing
- Perform other duties as required by the Program Manager or Vice President
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors (undergraduate) or Masters (graduate) degree in a technical or business discipline or 5+ years in nonprofit sector
- Min. 3-5 years experience of fundraising, nonprofit organizations, and direct marketing a plus
- Proven abilities in business analysis or system analysis including translating business requirements into technical program specifications
- Experienced in using structured methodologies to research, evaluate, analyze, and recommend new processes and technologies
- Understands user and technical documentation requirements for products and services and has experience in the development of internal documentation, user documentation, and training materials
- Strong project management skills and ability to instill project management discipline through program planning / execution process
- Familiarity with nonprofit, commercial business, and technical concepts

Sales and Marketing Support Specialist

SofTrek works exclusively within the philanthropic sector, providing software that helps non-profits raise more money. The Sales and Marketing Support Specialist will help the sales team identify opportunities and sell software to nation’s largest and most prestigious non-profit organizations.
Candidates must be extremely well organized, hard-working, highly-skilled at both written and verbal communication and have the aptitude to quickly learn new technologies. We will train you on the rest.
Expect to be tasked with a wide-variety of responsibilities, and a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Reports to the Director of Business Development and works closely with all members of the Sales and Marketing team..
Key Responsibilities:
Communication
- Work with sales team to write, package, and submit quotations and proposals
- Work with the sales team to prepare response to RFP’s, including collecting all appropriate document and preparing a highly professional finished product
- Develop custom sales presentations in MS PowerPoint as directed by the sales team using sales presentation templates produced by the marketing team
- Contact prospects and clients to invite to events or arrange meetings
- Proofread and copy-edit sales materials and correspondence for sales team
- Execute sales programs and campaigns (mailings, emails, social media)
Planning
- Work closely with the marketing team to plan and execute trade show presentations, display development, attendee travel and accommodations, scheduling of meetings, shipping, logistics, scheduling, etc.
- Prepare sales activity reports and scorecard reporting
- Assist in the coordination of our annual User Group Conference and supporting all the scheduled sales activities
Administrative
- Maintain sales database of organizations, prospects, contacts and sales quotations; includes researching prospects to get information
- Attend sales team meetings and document actions (tasks, owners, dates)
- Clerical duties including agenda preparation, expense reports, etc.
- Manage inventory of all supplies and materials needed by sales team
- Perform other duties as required by Sales and Marketing team
Job Requirements:
- Smart
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in any major requiring creativity combined with excellent verbal, written and analytics skill (Marketing, Communications, Art History, English)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong word processing, proof-reading and copy-editing skills
- High-proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook; Excel is a plus
- Exposure to database management systems and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems a plus

Software Engineer – Javascript / Java Developer
Job Summary:
Participates in the full lifecycle of the software engineering process. Is familiar with standard analysis and design techniques/concepts and experienced in programming concepts, practices, and procedures within a commercial application development environment. Additionally, responsibilities can include bug resolution support, research into new technologies, and packaging of releases. Must be able to multitask and be comfortable learning new technologies. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under the general supervision of a technical lead. A high degree of creativity is required.

- Performs detailed analysis and design, develops, debugs, and maintains the code for SofTrek’s commercial applications

Support Technician
Job Summary:
Provides first-tier Help Desk support to include receiving, analyzing, researching and resolving client software, hardware, operating system, application software, connectivity problems including installation and upgrade, as well as supporting all of SofTrek's Software offerings. Fully documents problem reports using Help Desk problem-tracking software (JIRA). Escalates unresolved problem reports to next support level or appropriate outside vendor support. Monitors open problem reports and verifies problem resolution. Becomes a subject matter expert in the areas of Business Objects report writing and Mailing segmentation services, and assist with client optional services as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide General Help Desk Support for clients as needed
- Support installation of Oracle/PledgeMaker and Business Objects including installation of plug-ins, client software necessary to successfully use PledgeMaker and all related software
- Support of Business Objects – this may include writing and troubleshooting reports
- Support other third party software
- Writing and running SQL queries / scripts
- Optional Services (Acknowledgements, NCOA, File import/export)
- Available to log and respond to support requests received on a daily basis via telephone, email, fax and the support website
- Update issues in Tracking database with all tasks completed on all issues/projects
- Procedures for Data cleanup/manipulation as requested by Clients
- Protect the integrity and confidentiality of our clients’ data
- Treat clients (internal and external) with professionalism and respect in all interaction

Job Requirements:
- 2 Yr. technical degree in related technical field

User Documentation Specialist
Job Summary:
The user documentation specialist develops documentation methods to effectively communicate product concepts and use to a wide range of end-user audiences. Works closely with business analyst, software engineers, QA/QC and usability testers, trainers, and end-users to design, create, test, and distribute documentation using a variety of delivery vehicles like web publication, knowledge bases, video, etc. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports directly to the Vice President of Product Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, create, distribute, and manage user documentation that will help our clients gain a clear understanding on how to use our software products in the most effective manner
- Continuously researches “best practices” to document software products
- Recommends tools, approaches, styling, delivery vehicles for all our product documentation
- Develops plans and schedules to manage the production of user documentation in accordance with minor and major product releases
- Evaluates user experience and effectiveness of user document to determine continuous improvement plans
- Works closes with software engineer team to ensure product “help” documentation is readily available and consistent in user experience and access
- Designs and writes user documentation taking into consideration the knowledge and skill base of the various end users
- Other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned
Job Requirements:
- A pertinent Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Information Systems or related experience with an emphasis on software documentation production
- Minimum 5 years of software documentation writing experience – producing user manuals, quick reference guides, FAQ’s, “how to” documents and/or videos
- Proven ability to effectively design various user documentation deliverables, including visual design, layout, styling, illustrations, and textual formatting
- Advance capabilities in screen capture video production a plus
- High level of expertise in standard industry documentation tools for web and video production
- Ability to grasp complex software, learn quickly and work within tight deadlines
- Strong written/verbal communications
- Self-starter, can work independently, with a passion for developing instruments and content that will help user become more effective at using software products
