SofTrek Offers New Integrated Data Enhancement Services
Melissa Data provides data quality solutions with emphasis on address and phone verification, postal encoding, and data enhancements. The company is a leading provider of easy-to-use and cost-effective solutions for achieving the highest level of data quality. Their powerful software applications, databases, components and services afford customers flexibility to achieve quality U.S., Canadian and international contact information.
SofTrek applications integrate seamlessly with Melissa Data tools to verify and enhance address information as it is entered into your donor database. The Address Verifier service verifies and standardizes mailing addresses and appends ZIP+4 and Carrier Route information. Options also exist for enhancing constituent data with delivery indication, geographic, census and demographic data for almost any location in the United States, opening SofTrek applications to uses like geolocation mapping and searches.
Our partnership with Melissa Data also allows SofTrek clients to additional extract, transform and load (ETL) services that can be contracted on a case-by-case basis. These services include:
- Email Verification: verify, correct and updates domain names.
- IP locator: return name and geographic information for the owner of an IP address.
- Name Parser: parse and apply gender to personal names and also generate salutations for correspondence.
- Street Search: search a ZIP Code from street address ranges, matching a specific pattern and, optionally, a street number.
- ZIP Search: match city names with ZIP codes, ZIP codes with city names, and searches for city names matching a pattern with a given state.
- Phone Check: verify and parse phone numbers, as well as identify phone numbers as residential, business VOIP or wireless.
Solution for PCI Compliance
Beginning in 2010, any organization which processes credit cards will be held to new Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) requirements. SofTrek has developed a PCI DSS / PA-DSS credit card vaulting solution which relieves organizations that accept or process payment cards of the burden of becoming PCI compliant.
The goal of the PA-DSS standard is to ensure card member safety and apply to all organizations or merchants, regardless of size or number of transactions, that accept, transmit or store any cardholder data. Cardholder data is any personally identifiable data associated with a cardholder, i.e. an account number, expiration date, name, address, social security number, etc. as well as all personally identifiable information associated with the cardholder that is stored, processed, or transmitted. Failure to comply with the data security standards can result in fines, or termination of your bank’s relationship with your organization. At their acquirer’s/service provider’s discretion, organizations that do not comply with PCI DSS may be subject to fines, card replacement costs, costly forensic audits, and brand damage should a breach event occur.
