Marketing Specialist


Job Summary

Do you want to help nonprofits while working for a software development company? SofTrek (www.softrek.com) is a 30-year-old software developer and the creator of ClearView CRM fundraising software for nonprofits. SofTrek’s Marketing Specialist is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of marketing programs and activities designed to generate leads, with a focus on digital marketing campaigns, web marketing and SEO. S/he also handles logistics around trade shows and other events, including a bi-yearly user conference. Copywriting skills are a must.

The Marketing Specialist provides guidance to the department in areas including, but not limited to, developing project strategic briefs, maintaining marketing budgets/tactical plans, developing content (articles, blog posts, social media, video, etc.) used across marketing channels, executing campaigns/programs, tracking campaign/program results, coordinating trade shows/events, managing external agencies and vendors, managing marketing materials inventory, and managing client/prospect lists.

The Marketing Specialist completes other projects as necessary. Creativity and an ability to juggle multiple projects would be valuable traits in the professional assuming this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Based on overall marketing communication strategic plan, develop marketing and marketing communications tactical plan/calendar
  • Develop and manage project plans to effectively coordinate the execution of tasks within budgets and timeframes
  • Develop and coordinate marketing tactics including direct marketing, web marketing, SEO, and others to ensure achievement of campaign goals, including ensuring measurement systems are in place to accurately track the results of programs and record results accurately for ROI analysis
  • Handle tradeshow/event activities: site/booth selection; equipment selection and staging; preparation of signage, materials, and promotional items; creation and maintenance of event checklists; execution of pre-event marketing awareness programs; collection of measurement data from show; and post-event analysis
  • Handle logistics for the User Conference: planning, promotion, venue, registration, content creation, etc.
  • Coordinate database marketing functions including list selection and procurement, list management, database management, and database analytics
  • Assist in the creation of marketing communication content for all communication media, including the website, marketing campaigns, sales collateral,  press releases, newsletters, sales presentations, and internal communications
  • Develop, design, execute, and report on marketing intelligence programs/projects including industry research, and customer intelligence (i.e., customer satisfaction)
  • Maintain the Marketing Agile process, including running weekly marketing team meeting
  • Recommend appropriate external vendors and agencies to use when appropriate (e.g., print vendors, mail shops, list vendors, promotional items vendors, etc.) 
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree with a concentration in marketing, communications, or related field
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in marketing, marketing communications, or a related field
  • Experience in software or technical marketing desirable
  • Strong copywriting and proofreading skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a productive and efficient manner
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Skilled in use of marketing automation and database applications
  • Some travel may be required to tradeshows, events, and conferences
